I love Build-A-Bear Workshop, I think it’s great that the kids are so involved in the making of the bears that they feel a connection and that the range of accessories is so extensive.
Both my girls have birthdays over the next couple of weeks so when offered the chance to review our local Build-a-Bear we quite literally jumped at the chance. I expecting Z at age 7 to not be quite so keen, but there was no way he was going to miss out, and I was really surprised at the range of bears and other characters which appealed to boys. He toyed with the idea of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle for a while before settling on a Spiderman themed bear and couldn’t wait to dress him up in a Spiderman outfit and lightsaber. S loves rabbits, so was very pleased to find a lovely cuddly rabbit while H chose the super cute Sea Splash Dolphin from the Beach Buddy range. The Beach Buddies are puppets too, so great value for just £12.
The next step was to choose a sound effect, Z chose Star Wars, S chose Happy Birthday and H a cute little giggle. Then after enthusiastically stuffing their bears they chose a heart. For an extra cost you can choose a beating heart which we’d never seen before. It doesn’t beat all the time, but just when pressed. H has been pressing dolphins heart before bed and pushing him up to her ear. I thought these were a really lovely addition.
The heart ceremony was quite possibly one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen, and the member of staff helping us was just brilliant. The kids kissed the hearts, rubbed them on their heads to make the bears clever, on their noses and legs and jumped up and down.
Once the bears and dolphin were sewn up it was time to wash and clean them, which again everyone did VERY enthusiastically.
Then it was time to dress the bears, after much deliberation, this is what they chose.
Finally it was time to name the bears. H called Sea Splash dolphin, Hello Kitty which amused me greatly.
Little H hasn’t put Hello Kitty down she she made him, he is definitely much loved already.
Huge thanks to Build-A-Bear Workshop for this review, we really love our bears

We LOVE Build A Bear too and when we were offered a chance to review also jumped at the chance, even though Ellie is 15. We had great fun, and if you went to the one in Basingstoke the staff there were so lovely.

Build a bear, is quite simply the best. Such great fun to have. I love how they are always changing the ranges. Some brilliant additions recently like the princess bears, and the superhero ones. My youngest loves her my roller skating little pony one she made recently.

My bog two both LOVED build a bear when they were small, I must take Syd this year as he is the perfect age to appreciate it I think!

Everyone keeps raving about Build a Bear yet I have to admit that we’ve never been. A friend was telling me all about how much fun it was on a playdate only last week. I think we must investigate soon!

I am always sooo impressed at how wicked these bears look- and how chuffed would you be to snuggle something that you made yourself? Awesome.
