I still don’t really know how I feel about the kids being back at school, in some ways it’s nice to have a bit of time to work in the day without feeling guilty that I’m not spending enough time with them, but I also really miss them, and being back on the school run and all the rushing round that entails isn’t filling me with joy. I wish we could’ve had just a couple more weeks of Summer fun and freedom, it seemed to disappear so fast this year.
The kids seem happy to be back though which is the most important thing and have all settled beautifully into their new classes.
I started off the term so organised with lunches made the night before and drinking bottles lined up, but by day 2 we were back to scrabbling around in the morning and playing the dangerous gamble of trying to park near school in the hope that we were late enough that the early birds had been and gone leaving their coveted parking spot empty. I REALLY wish we could walk to school, it would definitely make mornings so much calmer.
Despite the rushing and stressful moments we have had a few giggles..
“What have you learning today Sydney?”
“About when London got a cold…”
She actually meant they’d been learning about The Plague and went on to tell me in graphic detail about doctors with long beaks and big boots.
Hannah “What smells disgusting”
“Oh, it’s Mummy”
I’ve been trying essential oils to help with my headaches, so it wasn’t a bad smell…..
How has the first week back been for you?
Donna @ The Rose Diaries
Ha ha my little one is obsessed with smells. She always asks people what their house smells like??
We have only just started back to school today ….. the lunch was done last night but like you, I can’t promise this will happen for the remainder of the term, or week for that matter! Your children look happy to go to school and I always think that is half the battle! x

How are they all at school!
They were babies when we met xx

I have to say I was so pleased to have them back. I needed the routine and a bit of quiet again, they have all settled in well! Mich x

Such a fab pic Emma! I know exactly what you mean it went so fast this year, is it going to be like this every year, do they get faster? I realised I actually got a lot done with them around and enjoyed all that time outside and fresh air and travel. Sitting around working at home just isn’t the same!
Boo Roo and Tigger Too
I really don’t feel organised for the back to school routine, I’m hoping that by next week I’ll be a bit more prepared
Cass@frugalfamily
They all look so cute in their uniforms 😉
I really felt ready for them to go back to school this year whereas I’m usually like you wanting a little bit more time. They’ve settled back in brilliantly and it already feels like the Summer Hols were a long time ago.
Roll on half term….

I don’t know how I feel about the first week back. I’m proud, because we had the PE kit bagged and ready to go on the First Day. But I also felt a bit meh, as I’ve worked the holidays, other than when we went to France. I asked the boys about it and they said it didn’t matter as Grandma is better at hama beads than I am. What can a girl say to that?
Becky
ah we do that morning scramble too… chaos!!!!!
