My daughters are now 9 and 7 and the days of them happily running around in leggings and a football top or whatever clothes I chose for them are definitely well and truly in the past. Despite the age difference they are pretty much the same height which is perfect for sharing clothes, but unfortunately they have very different tastes.
Sydney ( age 9 ) generally likes a sporty look. She currently favours jeans with holes and a scruffy T-shirt, while Hannah is more girly. She’s currently loving pretty jump suits and dresses ( we’re hoping the weather warms up soon so she doesn’t freeze ). On a recent shoe shopping trip, Sydney chose brightly coloured trainers and Hannah pretty sandals, which I thought illustrated their differing tastes perfectly.
They were both very excited when Debenhams got in touch to ask if they would like to choose a dress from the new Monsoon girl’s dresses range. We already love Monsoon for dresses, they both wore baby Monsoon for their Christenings and Monsoon bridesmaids dresses a few years ago for a family wedding. We browsed online to get some ideas and I was happily surprised to see that the range was huge and included everything from very fancy bridesmaid style dresses to dresses suitable for everyday wear. We were genuinely spoilt for choice.
Much to my surprise both girls initially opted for gorgeous, very pretty dresses similar to the ones above, but in the end they decided to choose something still very pretty, but also more suitable for parties, school discos and on holiday.
I was hoping to get a sunny day over the weekend to take some nice photos, but the weather was awful here, so excuse the rather gloomy background. They were hopping around as they were so cold.
The dresses suit them perfectly. Hannah’s is very girly, while Sydney’s is slightly less fancy but the bright, bold colours suit her perfectly.
Sydney’s ‘Sasha’ dress ( below ) was only £28, which I think is a complete bargain as it is beautifully made. Hannah’s green floaty dress ( Laurentia ) was £42, but again this is great value as it is just lovely.
I did try to steer them both towards the ‘Disco Seahorse Dress’ which I love, but they both definitely know their own mind when it comes to clothes and couldn’t be talked out of their choices!!
Huge thanks to Debenhams for sending us such beautiful dresses, I had two very happy little girls when the package arrived. You might also have spotted a funky looking game in the background of some of the shots. It’s a fab party game version of Draw Something which has kept us all entertained for hours recently.
I couldn’t resist a little flashback to the last time they both had Monsoon dresses, THREE years ago! How they have changed.

These Monsoon dresses are fantastic and looks like they are really reasonable too. The girls look beautiful and I love the sparkly sequins on the turquoise dress but I agree that the disco seahorse dress is pretty awesome. What a great selection, thanks.

Loving the sparkle on Hannah’s dress, I could see both my girls choosing that one. I do love Monsoon but I haven’t tried the for clothes for my girls, I’ll have to have a god look round. Mich x
