Happy New Year! I can’t quite believe it’s 2020, how can that be right?
I’ve been completely rubbish at writing blog posts and updating Instagram over the last few weeks as time has just disappeared on me. I don’t even really know why. The usual Christmas mayhem, a disastrous surprise birthday party and desperately trying to finish my book haven’t helped.
We had our usual crazy tree, with not a single matching ornament. For the first time ever I wasn’t ready to take it down and our living room looks so empty today.
I am most definitely not looking forward to the return of endless gymnastics runs and swimming tomorrow, but at least the Spring term tends to be slightly calmer and the days start to get lighter. I have really struggled with the dark evenings this year for the first time so will be very happy when spring appears, although some snow would be nice first.
How was your Christmas? We had a lovely, quiet but noisy time. The Christmas holidays are always so strange, the time has gone so fast, but it also feels like the kids have been off forever!

Mine was a lot more relaxing than I thought it would be actually, and I can look back and say, I enjoyed it.

Our Christmas was lovely and relaxing which was quite amazing in itself as they are usually quite stressful. I hope you have a fab 2020 x
We had a lovely, hectic christmas, although our youngest came out in Chicken Pox on Christmas night, so one of us was then stuck at home with him for the next 5 days whilst they got better, other than that the usual, crazy life with seven children and a giant puppy! Five children back in education today and number two has gone with his dad to take back number one to uni. so its extremely quiet here!
Your tree looks lovely. I had a lovely Christmas thank you, it was lovely to see family although as I’m back home it’s the first time I’ve not decorated in a while. But I know next Christmas we’ll be in our own house and I can’t wait x
I had a lovely Christmas. It was refreshing to take a little break away from work, although I am happy to be getting back into the swing of things now.
We had a lovely Xmas . The younger two were a little poorly but we made the best out of it all . Love your tree :!
I’m not ready to get back into the swing of things just yet. Although I was happy to get all the decorations packed away as the house feels lighter and brighter without them.
I like your Christmas tree, it looks more fun this way anyway. I always find it hard to take my tree down after Christmas
School runs can be a nightmare especially when you factor in extra lessons and getting to them. I also prefer the lighter days. I feel more comfortable walking to school and back and making sure the kids are tired out enough to go to sleep at a decent time. Love the Christmas tree decorations by the way, we need to get some like yours as ours are a bit boring.
It was our turn to have our kids for Christmas this year and it was just absolutely perfect.
