My 6-year-old loves playing board games and card games. Luckily for him, the rest of the family enjoys games, too, so there’s usually someone willing to play. I’m a big fan of card games, as they tend not to be too long and are as engaging for adults as they are for children. I’m always on the lookout for new games, especially at this time of year when we end up staying indoors more than usual.
Puffin Rush is our new favourite game. We all picked up the rules after the first game, and Charlie asked to play six times in a row and again the following day.
The idea of the game is simple: players choose a puffin, take turns turning over cards to find a fish, and then head back to their burrow. It’s not as easy as it sounds though, as there are various obstacles along the way, and players have to find the fish and their burrow first. The game can change instantly. The blizzard card resets the board, a reindeer can move cards around, and some of the animal cards help, and some hinder!
Puffin Rush is a great game and as much fun for adults as kids!
Puffin Rush was designed by Mason Cooper-Muir with the help of his two dads Ben & Lee who also have their own game Foul Play: The Murder Mystery Card Game.
We were kindly sent Puffin Rush to review.
