So far today I’ve heard flower adverts on the radio, been sent e-mails about Mother’s Day sales at different schools and seen at least five different Facebook ads about Mother’s Day presents. While I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a lovely bouquet of flowers or a plant, there are lots of thoughtful and unusual Mother’s Day gifts around if you’re on the hunt for an extra special idea.
LEGO® Flowers
I’m a huge LEGO® fan, so top of my list is the LEGO® Icons Tiny Plants Set. The sunflowers are a great cheaper option too. There are some brilliant LEGO® vases on the ideas website as well.
Another fun idea with LEGO® is to buy a LEGO® Architecture gift of a place Mum really wants to go or a favourite place with special memories.
Cream Tea Hampers
The Cornish company has some delicious looking cream tea hampers with lots of options including a pasty and tea and gin and tonic version! I also love that there’s vegan and gluten free options as well.
Biscuits
Biscuiteers biscuits never disappoint and I just spotted they have some Mother’s Day Macarons this year!
John Lewis has a Cartwright and Butler biscuit selection in a beautiful keepsake tin.
Millies Cookies also have a Mother’s Day range including a lemon meringue cookie pie flavour. A giant cookie through the door is never going to disappoint.
Time to read
For Mums who love to delve into new stories and ideas but can’t always find the time for a long read, why not gift a subscription to the Headway app this Mother’s Day? Headway provides concise summaries of popular books that can be consumed in just 15 minutes, making it a perfect companion for a busy mom. Pair this with a voucher for her favourite local coffee shop, and give her the joy of reading without the time commitment. This way, Mum can enjoy her favourite pastime in the little spare moments of her day!
For the coffee lover
Marks and Spencer has a gorgeous set of Mummy and Mini Mugs. Pair these up with fancy coffee beans and some biscotti and you’ve got a lovely personalised gift.
Spend time together
Book an afternoon at a local pottery centre or a cake baking class. Local companies often offer one off afternoon sessions perfect for relaxing afternoon with family or friends.
