One of my hopes for 2015 is to get better at using my camera. At the moment, I fiddle a bit then just hope for the best. My kids aren’t the best at posing so there isn’t much time for me to change settings. My aim over the next few weeks is to get myself outside on my own and play around till I work out what I’m doing.
Fingers crossed by the end of the year you’ll see a big improvement in my photography skills.
If anyone has any tips for me, they’d be most appreciated.

Beautiful captures. Your camera work looks great to me, but then again, I’m not an expert either. I love the one of your little girl that’s a close up with her fluffy white hat on. These are great photos. Look forward to seeing more as the year goes on 🙂

Awesome photos of your littles ones. I love this project and so glad they are keeping it going. Its great to see after a whole year last year how much our kids grow and change even throughout the weeks. Great captures here. #livingarrows

They are all SO CUTE Emma! Honesty the more photos you take the better you get, it’s mostly a practice thing 🙂
If you fancy it we could come over your way one weekend, Tanya keeps telling me about ‘the ponds’ and that we should all go – photo walk maybe? x

Thank You!

These are gorgeous pictures! You definitely have a good eye, the one with your daughter lying in the shadows is great. Do you have an SLR camera? One thing you can do to really polish your photos is shoot in RAW format (rather than jpeg) which gives you great freedom to alter the images after you have shot them (changing exposure, warmth, saturation etc.) Feel free to look me up if that needs explaining!

Thank you, I’ll try that!

Lovely photos, your children are beautiful! My tip would be to create a Pinterest board and pin photos that you really like, see what you’re drawn to and incorporate that in your own photos x

You have taken some lovely pictures! I too would love a better camera, as I tend to rely on my phone – it’s just always there with me! Sim x

I think they’re beautiful photos – they all have such happy smiles! I’m not sure I’m in any position to start giving photography tips but one thing I’m going to be doing this year is keeping a better track of my camera settings to see what I’m using the most and then I’ll know what I wish I’d tweaked and how I want to leave my camera set up so that when I reach for it to grab a shot I’ve got half a chance of getting it – time will tell if it works!
Penny Carr
I think you’ve got some lovely photos there – and the one of her looking straight into the camera is adorable.
Emma
I think you are doing a pretty good job already Emma. Just keep on doing what you are doing, and take lots and lots and lots of pictures, you will notice an improvement in no time! Unless you are like me and far too critical over your own shots anyway! 😀
Pinkoddy
I think you are doing a great job – they are gorgeous shots of beautiful children.
Nikki Thomas
I agree, they are all beautiful photos. Like you. I want to get off auto more and use the camera more but I think if the light is right, you can take some gorgeous shots on auto #livingarrows
