Interior design has always been something you find exciting and enjoyable, especially when you’re getting stuck into a brand new project. You may have spent some time getting all of the other areas of your home in tip top condition, but what about your kid’s bedroom? When it comes to designing your space, you consider colours, furniture, accessories and so much more. The same goes for restyling a child’s bedroom; there is a lot to explore and so much to have fun with. Making sure that your child’s bedroom is a super fun place to be is the next thing for you to add to your interior design to-do list. Here are a few pieces of inspiration to get you started!
Pick a Fun Bed
In most cases, the bed is the focal point of the room so it’s important to choose a bed that is functional, stylish and fun to look at too! Now is your chance to let loose a little and take some inspiration from your inner child. Getting bunk beds is such a fun idea if you’ve got small children who would absolutely love to sleep up high. As long as they’re the appropriate age for bunk beds, why not allow them to have this gorgeous new addition to their room?
Choose Vibrant Colours
Little kids aren’t interested in beige colour palettes and grey walls, they want brightness, boldness, colour in every form in their bedroom. Choosing vibrant colours will not only make their bedroom a more fun place to be, but it will also help to reflect some of their personality too. Whether you’re painting the walls a solid shade, or you’re adding beautiful wall art and detail to their space, there is so much fun to be added with a pop of colour. You may want to get a decorator to help you complete the job to a high standard if you’re not too confident in your own skills!
Add Comfort Items
Your child may have a comfort item that they have a very strong bond with, and that is a completely normal part of childhood. Filling their bedroom with soft toys, a cosy reading corner and comfortable seating will increase the appeal of their space right away. Adding comfort items is a unique and personal choice that you can work with your child to achieve. Make sure you ask them what they want in their bedroom to make it feel comfy and appealing. They may have a completely different perspective to you, which is often very interesting to find out during the redesigning process!
As soon as you get started with redesigning your child’s bedroom, you will start to have a lot of fun with the process. Getting them involved will also make it so much more enjoyable as you’ll know exactly what is going to make them feel happy and excited. Whether you’re adding in their favourite comfort items, or picking a fun bed, there is so much you can do to ensure your kid loves their sleep space in every way.
