Den building has been a favourite activity in our house for many years, whether it be a simple blanket draped between sofas or a more elaborate adventure in the garden or the woods we always have a great time creating something together. Den building is also fantastic for learning how to work as a team and stimulating little imaginations.
Save the Children’s Den Day is a fantastic way to get children busy, creative and raising money for a great cause all at the same time. You can take part at home or school by following three simple steps.
1. Sign up and pick a date between 29 May and 6 June 2015
2. Get sponsored
3. Create the den of your dreams
Sign up via the Save the Children website to receive a special Den Day kit, full of easy fundraising ideas and handy tips to help you create an amazing hideout.
Save The Children work incredibly hard to help children wherever disaster strikes. Last year Save the Children responded to 84 emergencies in 54 countries helping to provide food, shelter, water, health care, protection and education to over 5 million people!! For every £1 donated, 88p is spent directly benefiting children. Den Day is a fantastic way for children of all ages to help build a better world for children who don’t have safe shelter.
Once you’ve built your den don’t forget to post photos to social media using the hashtag #denday so everyone can see your creation.
We can’t wait to get started, how about you?
For more information see the Den Day Homepage or follow on Facebook and Twitter.

What a great idea! I’ll definitely be joining in with this although our dens usually collapse not long after we make them 😉

Oh my goodness, I love the little stars of that video and what a fantastic den! I loved building dens when I was young and we have created a few interesting ones here too. We will have to try and come up with a winning idea!

We do love a good den – usually made by the boys by taking all the bedding off MY BED!!!
