I resisted getting a tablet for a long time, party because I was worried that the children would want to use it a lot, and with three children that would lead to lots of arguments. In the end the pull of having portable internet was too much to resist and we gave in. The fact that we can watch movies, chat to friends, play games, keep up to date with news and read ebooks has made it worth every penny. It has also been invaluable when on holiday, we ‘ve been able to lie in bed and watch a movie while the kids sleep.
Personally I use outr tablet mostly for browsing the internet and checking e-mails at home, my husband uses his for presentations at work and keeping in touch with us when he is away as well as reading books and general internet use.
We did end up downloading some apps for the kids, I’m a big fan of the educational apps. Z especially loves one where you answer sums on a blackboard and it records your time and score. The girls are more fond of Peppa Pig.
I know our tablet will be a lifesaver when we have a long plane journey later on in the year, in fact we are thinking of maybe getting another one so there are not so many arguments. I might even look at getting the Xperia™ Tablet.
I’ve been so surprised at how fast tablet technology has progressed, the first tablets seemed a little bulky, they are now so small and sleek it really is impressive.
So what tablet do you have? Is it the Xperia™ Tablet or something else? and how do you fit into the infographic below?
