If you’ve always dreamed of visiting Croatia, theres no need to let having kids stop you. Croatia is a fantastic destination for the whole family with a beautiful coastline, gorgeous cities and plenty of opportunites for rest and relaxation or more adrenaline fuelled activites if that’s what you like!
Dubrovnik is great destination for Game of Thrones fans and kids will love the beaches with crystal clear waters and nearby islands.
We’ve listed some of the best activities to do with kids in Croatia.
1. Hire a Yacht
If you want to push the boat out and indulge in a little bit of luxury while you are abroad, why not consider looking at a yacht charter for the area? A yacht charter can allow you to explore much more of the country that you are visiting than you believed was possible. This can prevent boredom from seeping into your family from staying in the same place for too long. Not only this, but your kids will adore feeling like a pirate as you traverse the high seas around Croatia and enjoy all that the depths have to offer. You might even be able to create a budding sailor in your children as they are inspired by this charter, and this is especially the case if they are already active, sporty, and interested in the sea.
2. Go to the Beach
No family holiday is complete without a trip to the beach. Rather than constantly dragging your children between historical sights that you have always wanted to see, you should give yourselves a break by heading to the beach. Croatia’s beaches are expansive and beautiful, with bright yellow sand and quaint docks that you might want to wile away more than a few hours at. They even boast one of the best beaches in Europe. The beach is never too far away in most of the large cities in Croatia, meaning that you can pop down to the shoreline whenever you want to, in between the other activities on your to-do list. However, you should always make sure that you protect your children with ample sunscreen when you are staying outside during peak hours, and that you pack a hat and sunglasses for them to keep off UV rays and head off sunburn.
3. Visit an Amusement Park
Although you might want to enjoy a relaxing few days ambling along city streets and looking at historical sights, it is likely that the main priority for your children will be fun. To ensure that they burn off all their energy and sleep well at night, and to act as a treat for all the time you will be taking them around more adult attractions like National Parks, you should put aside a few days of your trip for water and amusement parks. These can offer your kids the thrills that they are looking for and allow them to immerse themselves in a fantasy world filled with rides. This can allow you to escape from the daily pressures of life for a while and ensure that there is something for everyone to enjoy on the borders of Croatia.
